Valentine's Day 2013
When Bear got home yesterday, he brought with him an armful of cheerful Valentine's Day goodies! Someone in this picture seems inordinately interested in the plush bear, which we named "Valentino". He's the softest plush toy I've ever felt - just makes you want to curl up with him and take a nap.
We breeped 'round to the Greek restaurant and had a delicious dinner of felafel, Greek salad, and gyro with rice and veggies, followed by coffee and rice pudding, and it was an enjoyable and delicious interlude on a cold winter's evening.
The day before Valentine's Day, February 13th, marked the 24th anniversary of the day that Bear and I met for the first time. Next year, we'll have known each other for a quarter of a century. Amazing how time flies. We were friends for years before we had our first date, but once we did, we were never apart again.
Ain't love grand?

How did you meet?
ReplyDeleteWe met in the police academy. Oddly, they picked both of us to be the first recruits to wrestle on a huge mat during training. We're still at it, only it's a lot more fun now. 8-)
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day to the love birds. Your house looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan! That's the corner of my kitchen there - you can just see one part of "the jungle" (the front of the cottage has two deep-silled windows that are almost the only place in the house to put plants). My mom bought me that great peach-colored vintage tablecloth the last time she was up visiting, at one of my favorite antique store haunts.
DeleteHappy belated Valentine's Day! And happy anniversary, too.

CC - thanks! We're one of those annoying couples that celebrates all kinds of anniversaries... the anniversary of our first meeting, our first date, our moving into our house, our wedding... it just means lots more reasons to have a party! 8-)
